Job Summary:

he Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision and management of client and family centered, evidence-based, efficient nursing care to individuals and families in their homes and community with a focus on Enterostomal Care. The Registered Nurse ensures care is provided within the framework of quality & risk management and the standards and scope of practice set by VON, relevant provincial regulatory body and Community Health Nurses of Canada. The Registered Nurse is responsible for safe and appropriate teaching, assignment and delegation of tasks to different categories of workers.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education, Designations and Experience:

  • Must be Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice

  • Academic and specialized training in the area of Enterostomal Therapy or Wound, Ostomy and Continence Management from a recognized educational program or is an Advanced Practical Nurse (APN) with formal education in skin and wound care

  • Canadian Nurses Association certification in Community Health Nursing as asset

  • Three years of experience in the community or acute care setting with a focus on wound care is preferred

  • Clinical practice experience is an asset


Other:

  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check

  • A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a Child Abuse Registry Check may be required

  • Available to work flexible hours
