Research and Practice < Back Karen Campbell PhD, MScN, RN, NSWOC, WOCC(C) Research and Practice Independent Consultant EO2 Consultant Primacare Living Solutions Adjunct Professor, MClScWH, Western University, London, Ontario Karen Campbell is an adjunct faculty member for the Master’s of Clinical Science in Wound Healing at Western University in London ON Canada. In addition, she is an associate scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute. She has functioned as an advanced practice nurse in wound and continence care, and is currently certified as a Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada. Karen was the co-chair of the RNAO BPG on Pressure Injuries and the Canadian BPG on Pressure Ulcer prevention and Treatment in the SCI populations. She has been a member of the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel and Incontinence Associated Dermatitis International Best Practice Principles panel. Karen has a strong interest in skin health and frequently speaks and publishes on this topic.

< Back NSWOC Program - Marker NSWOCC Flexible (10-15 hours/month) $40.00/hour View Full Job Description How to Apply To apply please send resume and CV to office@nswoc.ca View Full Job Description Job Description Responsible for the marking of specific preceptorship-related assignments such as but not limited to the Preceptorship Assignment – Personal Reflection, Assignment in Lieu of Continence Preceptorship, NSWOC Program Continence Workshop Assignment, or Self-Directed Preceptorship Assignments using a pre-established marking rubric. Position reports to the WOC Institute Preceptorship Manager. Responsibilities Each assignment in graded out of 100% using a pre-established marking rubric. The assignments are submitted in Dual Code by the student who notifies the Preceptorship Manager. The Preceptorship Manager forwards the assignment to the marker. The marker grades the assignment inserting comments using the Track Changes feature and completes the pre-established rubric. The marker is expected to mark the assignment within 2-3 weeks of receiving it. If for some reason, this is not possible, the marker must notify the Preceptorship Manager of the expected length of delay. The marker returns the graded assignment and rubric to the Preceptorship Manager. Hours of work As this is a web-based program, schedule and hours of work are flexible (between 10- 15 hours per month) and some periods during the term will be busier than others Requirements/Qualifications Fluent in English both oral and written (bilingualism would be an asset). Excellent professional communication skills both oral and written. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel), comfortable in sending and receiving emails and attaching documents to emails. You will be collaborating with inter-professional care teams across the health care continuum and provide direct care for individuals in collaboration with a care team. Master’s level education in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair required. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in WOC service delivery. Hold current CPR-Level C &AED certification. A thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Canadian Standards of Practice for Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence. Knowledge about leading priority interventions for chronic wound care, and implementing the transferable knowledge to SPOs and patients, e.g., compression therapy, DFU offloading, and pressure redistribution practices. Past President < Back Marcia Leard BScN, RN, NSWOC, WOCC(C) Past President Marcia Leard is a native of Prince Edward Island and has been the NSWOC at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, PE since 2003. She graduated from the A J McMaster School of Nursing in Moncton NB in 1989 and completed her Bachelors Degree in Nursing Science at Brandon University in 1995. Marcia has experienced a diverse career including positions in emergency, obstetrics, med- surg, peds and nursing station relief in northwestern Ontario, but was thrilled to return home in 2001 and work in her home town.
