Open Positions: Executive Board 

President-Elect

The President-Elect is fully informed of all NSWOCC activities, vote as a Director, and assume the President’s duties if the President is absent or unable to serve. At the end of their term, the President-Elect transitions into the role of President and remains accountable to the Board and members of NSWOCC

Term

Serves two years as President-Elect followed by two years as president, followed by one year as Past President.

Time Commitment

Three to five hours per week.

Secretary

The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring accurate record-keeping, effective communication, and organization continuity within NSWOCC. This role supports the Board and members of NSWOCC through the management  and facilitation of operations across meetings and programs

Term

Serves Two years with an option to stand for re-election for a second term

Time Commitment

A minimum of three hours per week. Additional hours may be required.

Regional Directors

Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC®) is organized into five regions to strengthen communication and ensure members are represented across the country:

  1. British Columbia & Yukon

  2. Prairies, Northwest Territories & Nunavut

  3. Ontario

  4. Québec

  5. Atlantic

 

​Each Region is led by a Regional Director who is an elected at the Annual Members Meeting (AMM), and must be a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (Member of NSWOCC). The two (2) year term begins immediately following the AMM.

Regional Directors bring the unique perspectives of their region to national decision-making, while also keeping members connected to national initiatives, resources, and opportunities. Each Regional Director shall have one (1) vote in regards to board decisions.

They host two regional meetings each year (in-person or virtual), providing members with updates, education, and a chance to share ideas and priorities.

 

By bridging local and national perspectives, Regional Directors play a vital role in strengthening communication, advancing practice, and ensuring every member’s voice is heard within NSWOCC.

Required Nomination Forms

If you are interesting in nominating someone to the NSWOCC Board of Directors, or if you would like to self-nominate, you must complete the Nomination Form below, which will be reviewed by the NSWOCC Nominating Committee Chair.

Once a nomination is received and reviewed by the Nominating Committee Chair, the candidate will be notified of their nomination and will be asked to complete the Nominations Acceptance and Consent to Serve Form on this page.

Please note that both forms must be completed in order for a candidate to be an eligible nominee for election.

Nominations to the NSWOCC Board of Directors will be considered based on meeting the NSWOCC Bylaw requirements.
NSWOCC By Laws 5.03: Board Director Qualifications
Directors shall:
  1. be an individual who is not less than eighteen years of age;

  2. be a Member of the Association for a minimum of two (2) years as a member in good standing;

  3. except Directors appointed pursuant to section 5.06, shall be a Member of the Association;

  4. not be an employee or representative of a company whose primary business involves the development, manufacture and sole distribution of products in the field of wound, ostomy and or continence care;

  5. not be a contractor of the Association; or

  6. not be a person who has been found by a court in Canada or elsewhere to be mentally incompetent, who has the status of a bankrupt, or who is an “ineligible individual” as defined in the Income Tax Act.

Please ensure the candidate that you are nominating is agreeable to stand for nomination prior to submitting the nomination.


Nominations to the NSWOCC Board of Directors will be considered based on meeting the NSWOCC Bylaw requirements:
