About the event

Presented by Jordan Smart, MClSc-HW RN BN NSWOC WOCC(C)

Jordan Smart is a Clinical Nurse Specialist supporting Seniors Health within Alberta Health Services in the South Zone. Based in Lethbridge, Alberta, he specializes in wound and ostomy care, balancing his clinical role with active involvement in the Lethbridge Wound Clinic.

Objectives:

  1. Explain how the Renasys Edge NPWT device demonstrated clinical effectiveness in a real-world assisted living trial, including the patient and clinician feedback outcomes reported.

  2. Compare the cost implications of Renasys Edge consumables against the current device, interpreting the monthly cost savings data to assess the potential financial impact on their own health care programme.

  3. Formulate a rationale for evaluating NPWT device adoption in their own practice setting, drawing on evidence from this trial related to patient experience, clinician usability, logistics, and cost-benefit data.
