Learning Objectives:

1. Review how the NSWOC Urinary Catheter Decision Aids can help guide NSWOCs, urology nurses and general nurses with appropriate catheter selection for patients across the age spectrum.

2. Describe how patient anatomy, catheter features such as length, material, eyelet type, system and self-management considerations are all integrated into the decision aids.

3. Examine how the Urinary Catheter Decision Aids were developed in collaboration among twenty-four nurses with expertise in the field of continence from professional associations across Canada.
