Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
Travelling to urban areas within Calgary and surrounding areas and, on occasion, Southern Alberta, based on referral location
Assessing complex wounds and skin conditions for clients who have physical disabilities including spinal cord injuries
Performing conservative sharps debridement
Recommending appropriate resources and wound care products based on best practice for the management of specific wounds including negative pressure wound therapy
Consulting with nurse practitioners, physicians and allied health care professionals regarding wound and skin care recommendations
Consulting with home health care agencies regarding care plans and wound/skin care education
Accurate and timely completion of written documents including the BWAT, Braden, wound assessments and other required documents and reports
Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Current registration with CARNA
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited School of Nursing
Completion of Accredited Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Education Program
Possess a current driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation
Current Heart saver CPR certification
2 years current wound care experience
