Shannon Handfield

Shannon Handfield began her career as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse in 2000 at Vancouver Hospital with a clinical focus on spinal cord injury care. She served as Vancouver Coastal Health’s Clinical Lead for the Pixalere Electronic Wound Management System and later as Professional Practice Initiatives Lead for Wound Ostomy Continence. She also led the British Columbia Provincial Professional Practice Stream – Wound Ostomy Continence until her retirement in 2025 and continues to support the practice stream.
