Lina Martins

Lina Martins is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, certified Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) at London Health Sciences Centre in Canada. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BSc/MSc in Nursing and completed her wound, ostomy and continence education through the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute (1999). Lina has published on both wound/ostomy issues, inclusive of peristomal skin complications and a research validated peristomal skin tool. She was a panel participant in the development of the RNAO Best Practice Guidelines for ostomy care, and most recently the NSWOCC Debridement Best Practice Recommendations. Lina is the NSWOCC Editor-in-Chief for NSWOC Advance, and the Canadian Feature Editor for JWOCN. Lina provides consultation on acute/chronic wounds and ostomy care, with a specialized focus on fistula management and complicated stoma presentations. She is the co-chair of an interdisciplinary team guiding wound/ostomy policy development. She advocates on behalf of patients across the continuum of care and provides leadership, mentorship, and education to staff/patients/students.
