On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, NSWOCC was proud to host an exclusive members-only Ontario Local Meeting and Education Day held at the Smith+Nephew Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario.

This in-person event brought together Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs), Skin Wellness Associate Nurses (SWANs), and members of the broader NSWOCC community for an engaging evening of professional development, networking, and collaboration.

The evening was led by Joshua Moralejo, MScCH:WPC, RN, BScN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), IIWCC, Ontario Regional Director for NSWOCC, and featured a Smith+Nephew sponsored workshop presented by Allison Da Silva, RN, BScN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), Clinical Educator, AWM Central Canada at Smith+Nephew.

Following registration and a team-building session with NSWOCC updates, participants took part in a hands-on educational workshop on Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT). The session explored innovations in NPWT, best practices for when and how to use NPWT throughout the patient’s wound-healing journey, and offered interactive demonstrations with both traditional and single-use NPWT systems.

This Ontario Local Meeting was more than an education event; it was an opportunity for members to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional relationships within the NSWOCC network.

A heartfelt thank you to Smith+Nephew for their continued partnership, for hosting this valuable workshop and dinner, and for their commitment to advancing innovation in wound care.

Stay tuned for details on future regional meetings and education days across Canada as NSWOCC continues to create spaces for connection, collaboration, and growth within our community of specialized nurses.
