Canadian Best Practice Recommendations in Wound Care for People Who Use Drugs: A Harm Reduction Approach

In November 2025, NSWOCC was proud to partner with WoundWISE to host two impactful station-based clinical education workshops in London and Toronto. These in-person events brought together clinicians from acute care, long-term care, and community settings for an immersive evening of practical wound care training, collaboration, and professional development.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, NSWOCC was proud to host an Ontario Local Meeting and Education Event in partnership with Hollister Incorporated. Held at the beautiful Ancaster Mill in Ancaster, Ontario, this in-person gathering welcomed Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs), Skin Wellness Associate Nurses (SWANs), and members of the broader NSWOCC community for an evening of professional development, education, and meaningful connection.

On Friday, November 21, 2025, provincial and federal leaders, healthcare administrators, clinicians, and experts gathered both in person and online for the second annual Canadian Pressure Injury Summit. This national event united stakeholders from across Canada in a shared commitment to advancing pressure injury (PI) prevention and management through collaboration, education, and collective action.

On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, NSWOCC was proud to host an exclusive members-only Ontario Local Meeting and Education Day held at the Smith+Nephew Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario. This in-person event brought together Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs), Skin Wellness Associate Nurses (SWANs), and members of the broader NSWOCC community for an engaging evening of professional development, networking, and collaboration.

Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada (NSWOCC®)’s Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) Institute is proud to announce their partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care in a ground breaking initiative to enhance wound, ostomy, and continence care expertise in Ontario’s long-term care homes.

NSWOC Amanda Sowiak (RN, BN, NSWOC, WOCC) helped lead a 2-year healing journey for a client who nearly lost his leg to necrotizing fasciitis.
