On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, NSWOCC was proud to host an Ontario Local Meeting and Education Event in partnership with Hollister Incorporated. Held at the beautiful Ancaster Mill in Ancaster, Ontario, this in-person gathering welcomed Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOCs), Skin Wellness Associate Nurses (SWANs), and members of the broader NSWOCC community for an evening of professional development, education, and meaningful connection.

The evening was led by NSWOCC Ontario Regional Director Joshua Moralejo, MScCH:WPC, RN, BScN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), IIWCC, and opened with a team-building exercise alongside important organizational updates from NSWOCC. This session set the tone for a collaborative and engaging night, offering members a space to share insights, ask questions, and raise awareness of key challenges and opportunities across the province.

Following the opening session, attendees participated in the Hollister-sponsored educational presentation: “Bold Moves and Better Outcomes: Advancing Peristomal Skin Health with Purpose” presented by Rosemary Hill, RN, BScN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), FNSWOC and Cathy O’Brien, RN, BScN, NSWOC. The session explored how bold, purposeful actions in clinical practice can elevate patient outcomes and enhance peristomal skin health. Through evidence-informed discussion, product innovation insights, and peer-to-peer collaboration, participants were encouraged to re-evaluate current care approaches and consider new strategies that support exceptional ostomy care.

This Ontario Local Meeting was more than an education session, it was an opportunity for members to connect, share experiences, and strengthen relationships within the NSWOCC community. The warm, welcoming environment of Ancaster Mill paired with the thoughtful programming made for an inspiring and impactful evening.

A heartfelt thank-you to Hollister for their partnership, support, and commitment to advancing ostomy care through meaningful education.

Stay tuned for future regional meetings and education opportunities as NSWOCC continues to create spaces for connection, collaboration, and growth within our community of specialized nurses.
